Lavinia Petrache is a technologist and self-taught animator based in Bucharest, Romania. In 2023, she stepped away from the tech world to create Fracti, her first animated short film.
After a long year of production came another year of festival screenings around the world. Somewhere along the way, she found herself returning to Bucharest after 14 years of living in the US and Switzerland, as if film had quietly led her back home.
